Shadowside would like to regretfully announce the unfortunate circumstances why the Brazilian band could not perform as the support act for Iron Maiden last night on March 15, at the Interlagos Race Track in Sao Paulo, due to weather conditions.
About 3:30pm, the area of Interlagos was hit by a severe storm that flooded the stage, got instruments and amps wet, as well as Iron Maiden's pyro equipment. At 6pm, schedule time for Shadowside Band to go up on stage, Iron Maiden crew was still setting up their gear. The British band's stage setup and sound check already running late, the situation only worsened with the down pouring rain.
At that point, Mondo Entretenimento, the event promoter, decided exactly at 6:20pm to cancel Shadowside Band’s appearance to avoid any further delays in schedule and keep peace with the Police demands to end the show at no later than 10:30 p.m. Rod Smallwood personally apologized to the Shadowside band members for the late cancellation.
Shadowside would like to thank all the fans and press for their support, and especially the Iron Maiden crew, band and management for the opportunity. |
